You should also have a professional check the structure before installing ceramic on upper levels because it is heavy.

Our floors can be sanded many times, but unlike Oak and other hardwoods, if 1 bamboo board is damaged, it can simply be cut out and replaced. With oak floors and other hardwoods, you would have to sand and refinish the entire room to achieve a uniform appearance.

Laminate

Pros: Easy to install and maintain. It will not fade when subjected to direct sunlight or any source of artificial light.It is in a wide array of designs.

Cons: Laminate looks fake, it is just a printed photograph of real wood glued to a piece of particle board. It can not be sanded and refinished if it scratches or dents, and often sounds hollow when walked on. Water moisture will ruin the laminate causing mildew and peaking at the joints. Laminate is also less likely than natural flooring to increase the monetary value of your home.

Pros: It is less expensive than traditional wood flooring. It has many layers so it is durable. Can be installed over any sub-flooring type.

Cons: Engineered wood flooring looks like solid wood but is actually a thin layer of real wood veneer bonded to the top of multiple layers of wood scraps, plywood or composite material. It most likely cannot be refinished due to their thin layer of veneer. And It most likely cannot be sanded and refinished if it scratches or dents.

Pros: Eco-friendly. Withstands food traffic well and provides a a more cushioned surface to walk on. It is naturally resistant to invasive organisms like mildew and mold. It holds more warmth than other hardwoods.

Cons: Although Cork is a GREEN product, it is a very soft material that can easily be damaged. Sharp or heavy objects such as appliances and furniture that are left in place for long periods of time can cause permanent indentations. It is prone to water moisture damage. Cork usually can not be sanded due to the soft, thin nature of the outer layer.

Any sort of pressure may result in dents, scratches and even cracks in the floor. For these reasons there are a lot of complaints from homeowners and business owners when working with traditional bamboo flooring.
