Question: I have always heard that bamboo flooring is a soft material. Is this true?
Answer: It is true that TRADITIONAL bamboo is a softer material. Even though traditional bamboo flooring is about 25% harder than Oak and Maple, it still can be easily scratched or gouged by high heels, small pets and furniture movement. Any sort of pressure may result in dents, scratches and even cracks in the floor. For these reasons there are a lot of complaints from homeowners and business owners when working with traditional bamboo flooring.
Question: My subfloor is concrete, can I still get bamboo floor?
Answer: Mr. Bamboo’s Bamloc® is perfect for customers with concrete subfloors. BamLoc® is the FIRST 100% solid prefinished strand woven floating bamboo floor on the market. No Nailing is required and moisture does not affect it like engineered hardwoods, laminates and most other flooring.
Question: I heard that Bamboo contains formaldahyde.
Answer: Some bamboo products do, but Mr. Bamboo’s flooring is formamaldhyde free and is made with Non-off gassing adhesives.
Question: Does Bamboo come bare and unfinished?
Answer: No, Mr. Bamboo flooring comes in 4 beautiful colors that match almost any décor. The 6 coats of of German ceramic factory finish are much stronger than any aftermarket finish on traditional types of flooring.
Question: What if the floor gets damaged?
Answer: With Mr. Bamboo’s flooring, just remove/replace a damaged plank because they are all prefinished and a standard size. With all floors, always keep extra planks, just in case.
Question: Can bamboo floor be sanded and refinished?
Answer: Yes, Just like traditional wood flooring, Although the finish on Mr. Bamboo should last many many years, it can be sanded and refinished many, many times.
Question: Can Mr. Bamboo be installed over radiant heat?
Answer: Yes, Because Mr. Bamboo’s BamLoc® flooring is a solid self locking floor. It is perfect to be installed over radiant heat. BamLoc® boards are wider and come with three random lengths, which make it easy to install on any type of subfloor and reduce installation costs.
Question: Is it recommended to install bamboo is kitchens?
Answer: It is perfect to install Mr. Bamboo’s flooring in kitchens. Mr. Bamboo’sflooring is much harder than oak, maple and other common woods. Also it absorbs less water moisture than most hardwoods.
Question: What kind of warranty does Mr. Bamboo provide?
Answer: Mr. Bamboo’s flooring all have a 25 year residential and 10 year commercial finish warranties and a 30 year structural warranty.
Question: What kind of maintenance is needed with bamboo floors?
Answer: The maintenance with Mr. Bamboo’s flooring is very simple, all you need is a dry mop or vacuum to clean, and no wax is needed.
Question: I’m a “do it yourselfer”, am I able to install Mr. Bamboo’s floors myself with ease?
Answer: Yes, with intermediate carpentry skills and tools, you should have no problem installing Mr. Bamboo’s flooring. Mr. Bamboo’s BamStrand® is just like installing other nail down hardwood floors. Mr. Bamboo’s BamLoc® flooring just snaps in place with no nails, so installation is very simple.
