Oak & Other Hardwood vs. Mr. Bamboo flooring
High Heels, sharp objects, pet claws, and furniture scratch and dent common woods and require higher maintenance and expensive sanding and refinishing over time. Most Oak and other solid hardwoods have a wood grain will be easy soak in spills and have limited below grade installations, such as basements. Only very few exotic hardwood floors compare in hardness to Mr. Bamboo's strand bamboo, and come from the rain forests which are being destroyed at a horrifying rate. Mr bamboo flooring is much harder than oak, maple and other common woods.
Mr. Bamboo's floors are 100% harder than oak and most other hardwoods and therefore will not dent or scratch from high heels, sharp objects, pet claws and furniture movement. Mr. Bamboo harvests Moso bamboo when it reaches its full maturity, between 5-6 years, unlike Oak trees that can take up to 90 years to reach full maturity. Unlike hardwood, bamboo is a fibrous material. Expanding and contracting due to moisture and dryness is diminutive compared to oak and other hardwoods. Mr. Bamboo's floors can be installed below grade due to its resistancy to moisture and it's also perfect for radiant heat installations. Since our floors are more durable, less maintenance is needed to maintain its beautiful appearance! Our floors can be sanded many times, but unlike Oak and other hardwoods, if 1 bamboo board is damaged, it can simply be cut out and replaced. With oak floors and other hardwoods, you would have to sand and refinish the entire room to achieve a uniform appearance. Bamboo, that's our name! Bamboois all we do! Since 1998!
